Westfield Parramatta Car Park Façade, Beam & Column Remediation
Beam & Column Concrete Cancer Repairs, Reinforcement Remediation, Structural Repair Mortar & Protective Coating remediation delivered at Parramatta, NSW.
Project Overview
This Parramatta, NSW project involved beam & Column Concrete Cancer Repairs, Reinforcement Remediation, Structural Repair Mortar & Protective Coating. Works were delivered under live Retail Environment — Staged Beam & Column Remediation conditions, with the repair programme focused on safe access, reinforcement treatment and durable concrete reinstatement.
THE PROBLEM
Extensive deterioration affected the external reinforced-concrete beam and supporting column at a major Westfield Parramatta car park entrance, with delamination, spalling and heavily corroded reinforcement exposed across both structural elements.
THE REPAIR
Unsound concrete was removed to expose the affected reinforcement. Corroded steel was cleaned and treated, with deteriorated bars replaced where necessary. Structural repair mortar was used to reconstruct the beam face, soffit edges and column profile before the repaired surfaces were finished and protected.
THE OUTCOME
The damaged beam and column system was comprehensively reinstated, eliminating exposed reinforcement and restoring the original structural geometry. The completed works produced a uniform protected finish across the entrance elevation.
SITE CONDITIONS
The remediation was completed around an active shopping-centre car park entrance, requiring staged access, debris containment, pedestrian controls and coordination around continuous vehicle movements.

A Controlled Remedial Process
Each project follows the actual repair requirements, access constraints and site conditions.
Inspection & Defect Mapping
Affected areas were inspected, mapped and confirmed so the repair extent could be planned before breakout.
Controlled Concrete Breakout
Unsound and delaminated concrete was removed back to a sound substrate while surrounding areas were protected.
Reinforcement Treatment
Exposed reinforcement was cleaned, assessed and treated, with replacement or augmentation completed where required.
Structural Reinstatement
Compatible structural repair mortar was placed and finished to reinstate the original concrete profile.
Protective Interfaces
Repair edges, interfaces and exposed surfaces were detailed to suit the surrounding structure and site conditions.
Final Inspection
Completed repair areas were checked for finish, continuity and compliance before the work zone was handed back.
