Project Overview

This Sydney, NSW project involved concrete Cancer Repairs, Beam & Column Remediation, Reinforcement Replacement & Structural Repair Mortar. Works were delivered under operational Car Park — Staged Structural Concrete Repairs conditions, with the repair programme focused on safe access, reinforcement treatment and durable concrete reinstatement.

REPAIR SCOPEConcrete Cancer Repairs, Beam & Column Remediation, Reinforcement Replacement & Structural Repair Mortar
ACCESSWorks were carried out within an operational multi-storey car park, requiring controlled work zones, overhead protection, dust and debris management and staged access around vehicle movements.

THE PROBLEM

A reinforced-concrete beam-to-column junction within a multi-storey car park had suffered severe deterioration. Large areas of concrete had spalled from the column head and adjoining beam, exposing corroded reinforcement with cracking and pronounced rust staining.

THE REPAIR

Deteriorated and delaminated concrete was broken out back to sound material to fully expose the affected reinforcement. Corroded bars were cleaned and treated, with reinforcement replaced where section loss prevented effective treatment. The beam and column junction was then reconstructed using structural repair mortar and finished back to the original structural profile.

THE OUTCOME

The heavily deteriorated beam-to-column junction was fully rebuilt, with reinforcement encapsulated and the original beam and column dimensions reinstated. The repair restored a continuous concrete profile across the previously damaged structural junction.

SITE CONDITIONS

Works were carried out within an operational multi-storey car park, requiring controlled work zones, overhead protection, dust and debris management and staged access around vehicle movements.

A Controlled Remedial Process

Each project follows the actual repair requirements, access constraints and site conditions.

01

Inspection & Defect Mapping

Affected areas were inspected, mapped and confirmed so the repair extent could be planned before breakout.

02

Controlled Concrete Breakout

Unsound and delaminated concrete was removed back to a sound substrate while surrounding areas were protected.

03

Reinforcement Treatment

Exposed reinforcement was cleaned, assessed and treated, with replacement or augmentation completed where required.

04

Structural Reinstatement

Compatible structural repair mortar was placed and finished to reinstate the original concrete profile.

05

Protective Interfaces

Repair edges, interfaces and exposed surfaces were detailed to suit the surrounding structure and site conditions.

06

Final Inspection

Completed repair areas were checked for finish, continuity and compliance before the work zone was handed back.
