Brick Cavity Flashing Remediation – Mosman, NSW
Brickwork Removal, Cavity Flashing Replacement, Weep Holes & Brickwork Reinstatement remediation delivered at Mosman, NSW.
Project Overview
This Mosman, NSW project involved brickwork Removal, Cavity Flashing Replacement, Weep Holes & Brickwork Reinstatement. Works were delivered under occupied Strata Building — Staged Façade Repairs conditions, with the repair programme focused on safe access, reinforcement treatment and durable concrete reinstatement.
THE PROBLEM
Water ingress within a strata unit block was traced to failed cavity flashing above brick window openings, with sections of masonry removed to expose the deteriorated flashing and wet cavity zone.
THE REPAIR
Selected brickwork was removed, failed flashing stripped out, the cavity cleaned and prepared, new flashing installed with corrected drainage detailing, and the brickwork reinstated to match the surrounding façade.
THE OUTCOME
The affected wall elevation was reinstated with a functional cavity flashing system that safely redirects moisture back out through the façade rather than allowing it to track inward.
SITE CONDITIONS
Works were completed within an occupied strata unit block, requiring controlled access, protection of surrounding areas and staged brick removal and reinstatement around the window line.

Controlled Concrete Breakout
Unsound and delaminated concrete was removed back to a sound substrate while surrounding areas were protected.
Reinforcement Treatment
Exposed reinforcement was cleaned, assessed and treated, with replacement or augmentation completed where required.
Structural Reinstatement
Compatible structural repair mortar was placed and finished to reinstate the original concrete profile.
Protective Interfaces
Repair edges, interfaces and exposed surfaces were detailed to suit the surrounding structure and site conditions.
