BEFORE AFTER

The illustrated repair result

The wharf perimeter has a continuous repaired profile, covering the previously exposed horizontal reinforcement.

THE PROJECT SCOPE

What the work involves

This comparison follows the wharf perimeter above its supporting piles. The before image shows a long area of concrete loss along the deck edge. The after image shows the visible edge, beam and supporting pile surfaces reinstated, together with refinished bollards on the deck. The scope is described from the visible comparison, without assuming work to concealed or submerged areas.

Top edge

Inspect the transition between the deck surface and the damaged perimeter face.

Outer beam face

Map spalling and exposed horizontal steel along the accessible edge.

Lower return

Review the underside adjacent to the edge to avoid overlooking connected damage.

WATERFRONT CONDITIONS

Access & staging

The deck edge would need a controlled work zone coordinated with waterfront activity. Access from above and below, edge protection and containment over the water would be assessed for the chosen repair method.

A COORDINATED APPROACH

Typical repair sequence

  1. Map the perimeter damage

Inspect the top edge, vertical face and accessible lower return.

  2. Agree staging and repair boundaries

Coordinate deck use, over-water access and the specified repair detail.

  3. Prepare and reinstate the edge

Address defective cover and exposed reinforcement before rebuilding the profile.

  4. Cure and inspect the finish

Record the repaired sections and complete the required checks before removing work-zone controls.
