MARINE CONCRETE REPAIRS
BUILT FOR AUSTRALIAN
CONDITIONS

Marine environments expose concrete to saltwater, tidal movement and harsh coastal weather. Over time, corrosion can cause cracking, spalling and exposed reinforcement. We provide practical marine concrete repairs to restore strength and protect structures across Sydney.Salt exposure, tides and coastal weather can damage marine concrete. We assess the visible defects and help plan the next steps.

CONCRETE REPAIRS
BELOW THE
WATERLINE

Concrete damage does not stop at the waterline. We assess the structure, tides and access to plan a suitable repair approach.

  • WORK WITH THE TIDES

For areas exposed at low tide, repairs are staged around safe access and the material’s curing requirements.

  • CREATE A DRY WORK AREA

Where practical, temporary watertight enclosures called cofferdams isolate the repair zone so work can proceed in dry conditions.

  • USE UNDERWATER REPAIR SYSTEMS

Where dry access is impractical, specialist divers can install pile jackets and underwater repair grouts suited to submerged conditions.

Method and materials are selected to suit engineering requirements and site conditions.

ONGOING MAINTENANCE
& INSPECTIONS

Discuss follow-up inspections and maintenance planning for your wharf, jetty, marine pile or other coastal concrete asset.

  • Follow-up inspections

Consider future inspection needs for the repaired and surrounding areas.

  • Water & drainage issues

Identify maintenance concerns that may continue to affect the concrete.

  • Repair & condition records

Keep useful information available for future asset planning.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

View all FAQs
Why Is Marine Concrete More Prone To Concrete Cancer?

Saltwater and airborne salt can introduce chlorides into concrete. Where reinforcement is exposed to suitable conditions for corrosion, rust can develop and expand, causing cracking, delamination and spalling. Splash and tidal zones are particularly demanding because the concrete repeatedly wets and dries.

Do You Work On Operational Wharves And Ports?

Operational marine works require planning around site access, vessel movements, tides and the requirements of the asset operator. We review these constraints with your site representatives before agreeing work areas, staging and suitable repair windows.

Can You Work Below The Waterline?

Below-waterline defects need a project-specific assessment of water depth, tides, visibility, access and the proposed repair system. Specialist marine or diving services may be needed. Share the location and available reports so the required expertise and a suitable approach can be established before any work is agreed.

Do You Provide Engineering Reports?

Site observations and a repair quotation are different from a formal structural engineering report. If your project needs structural assessment, design or certification, that work must be undertaken by an appropriately qualified engineer. Tell us what documentation you need so the required engineering input can be discussed as part of the project scope.

What Repair Systems Do You Use For Marine Environments?

The repair system is selected for the condition of the concrete, the exposure zone and the agreed repair design. A scope may include removing unsound concrete, treating or replacing affected reinforcement, reinstating the section with compatible repair materials and applying protective coatings where specified.

Do You Handle Large-Scale Infrastructure Projects?

Send your defect schedule, drawings, engineering reports and tender scope so we can assess the proposed work. For larger marine assets, the repair scope, engineering requirements, access arrangements and staging need to be reviewed before confirming project suitability and a quotation.

How Long Do Marine Concrete Repairs Last?

Service life depends on the cause and extent of deterioration, the remaining structure, repair design, surface preparation, materials, exposure and maintenance. A repair should address the identified cause as well as the visible damage. The expected performance and ongoing inspection needs are discussed for the specified system; one lifespan cannot be promised for every marine structure.

How Do I Get A Quote For A Marine Project?

Use the site inspection form on this page or call 0424 408 330. Include the structure location, a description of the damage, photographs and any drawings, reports or tender documents. Tell us about site access and operational restrictions so we can discuss an inspection and the information needed to prepare a repair quotation.
