Rooftop Parapet, Planter Box & Concrete Upstand Remediation
Parapets, planter boxes & concrete upstands remediation delivered at Randwick, NSW.
Project Overview
This Randwick, NSW project involved parapets, planter boxes & concrete upstands. Works were delivered under weather-managed rooftop works conditions, with the repair programme focused on safe access, reinforcement treatment and durable concrete reinstatement.
THE PROBLEM
Long-term water ingress around rooftop planters and parapets had contributed to reinforcement corrosion, cracking, delamination and localised spalling.
THE REPAIR
Affected concrete was removed, reinforcement treated and damaged parapets, planter structures and upstands rebuilt with compatible repair mortars.
THE OUTCOME
Deteriorated rooftop concrete was restored and vulnerable repair zones reinstated as part of the roof-level remediation works.
SITE CONDITIONS
Rooftop exposure, moisture ingress and weather-dependent access required carefully staged works around the occupied complex.
A Controlled Remedial Process
Each project follows the actual repair requirements, access constraints and site conditions.
Inspection & Defect Mapping
Affected areas were inspected, mapped and confirmed so the repair extent could be planned before breakout.
Controlled Concrete Breakout
Unsound and delaminated concrete was removed back to a sound substrate while surrounding areas were protected.
Reinforcement Treatment
Exposed reinforcement was cleaned, assessed and treated, with replacement or augmentation completed where required.
Structural Reinstatement
Compatible structural repair mortar was placed and finished to reinstate the original concrete profile.
Protective Interfaces
Repair edges, interfaces and exposed surfaces were detailed to suit the surrounding structure and site conditions.
Final Inspection
Completed repair areas were checked for finish, continuity and compliance before the work zone was handed back.
