Aquatic Centre Wet-Area Remediation
Concourse, soffits, beams & columns remediation delivered at Ryde, NSW.
Project Overview
This Ryde, NSW project involved concourse, soffits, beams & columns. Works were delivered under staged wet-area works conditions, with the repair programme focused on safe access, reinforcement treatment and durable concrete reinstatement.
THE PROBLEM
Concrete cancer and spalling affected pool edges, plant-room soffits, beams and columns in wet areas.
THE REPAIR
Loose concrete was removed, reinforcement treated, and wet-area repair mortars and protective coatings applied.
THE OUTCOME
Structural concrete was reinstated in controlled stages so unaffected areas could remain accessible.
SITE CONDITIONS
Wet, humid conditions required staged access and repair systems suited to the environment.

A Controlled Remedial Process
Each project follows the actual repair requirements, access constraints and site conditions.
Inspection & Defect Mapping
Affected areas were inspected, mapped and confirmed so the repair extent could be planned before breakout.
Controlled Concrete Breakout
Unsound and delaminated concrete was removed back to a sound substrate while surrounding areas were protected.
Reinforcement Treatment
Exposed reinforcement was cleaned, assessed and treated, with replacement or augmentation completed where required.
Structural Reinstatement
Compatible structural repair mortar was placed and finished to reinstate the original concrete profile.
Protective Interfaces
Repair edges, interfaces and exposed surfaces were detailed to suit the surrounding structure and site conditions.
Final Inspection
Completed repair areas were checked for finish, continuity and compliance before the work zone was handed back.
